The Porsche 911 Carrera that was produced between 1987 and 1989 represented a pivotal era in the icon’s storied history. Belonging to the “G-Series” or “G-Body” generation of 911 (built from ’72-’89), this run’s standout feature was the introduction of the highly sought-after G50 transmission that was originally developed in the famed, 959. The G50 gearbox provided a more refined and precise shifting experience, enhancing the 911’s reputation for performance and handling. With a 3.2-liter flat-six engine producing 217 horsepower, the 911 Carrera from this period was no slouch in terms of power, offering an exhilarating driving experience that endeared it to enthusiasts worldwide.
